Familiar to many is the Food Guide Pyramid, recently changed twice since 2005 to represent the constant scientific studies changing what healthy eating habits look and taste like.

Foodies describe themselves as people with an ardent or refined interest in food or alcoholic beverages who seek to make food a hobby rather than simply eating out of convenience or hunger.
