On December 2, another great book event was held at the Joint Base Lewis-McChord. The Grinch and Cindy Lou Who visited, and almost 300 excited children along with their parents, lined up to be greeted, hugged and read to.

AAFES Soft-line Supervisor, Monique Daniel, summarized the event: "Happy children lined up waiting to meet the Grinch and Cindy Lou Who. The line was out the door. Almost 300 customers came through the line to meet the Grinch. Over-joyed faces of children waited patiently for their turn to meet the Grinch! Cindy Lou Who read “How the Grinch Stole Christmas “ and many children were happy to discover the Grinch is nice in the end."

Book publishing representatives from Random House were thrilled. This is what they had to say: "Thank you so much for all your hard work in making this event a success for AAFES; TNG and Random House Children's Books. This was fabulous and really showcased AAFES and The Grinch Event. ...This was just “Seuss-sational”! We appreciate you and your commitment to our books." wrote Stella K. Galatis Director of Field Sales - Mass Market at Random House Children's Books.

AAFES has really been hosting some successful events which, everyone knows, is helping with not only the introduction of some great books and characters, but also endearing the retailer in the hearts and minds of their consumers.
